Getting a tattoo with Hanger 18

Here are our Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) for our professional tattoo artists and services here at Hanger 18.

By paying a deposit for a tattoo at Hanger 18, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

Our minimum age without parental consent is 18 years of age, there are no exceptions.

We accept the following forms of identification:

  • Valid Government Issued Drivers Licence
  • Passport
  • Photo Health Card
  • Age of Majority card
  • Status Card
  • Military I.D.

Parental consent is required for anyone aged 16 or 17 wanting to get a tattoo at Hanger 18. Parents must have proof of ID themselves and provide a contact phone number.

Parental consent must be given by a parent accompanying the young person to a pre-booked appointment and signing a consent form at our shop. Parents can also visit us and sign the consent form in advance of their young person’s visit. We can accept forms signed off the premises and brought in by a young person provided that there is a valid contact phone number, and we can verify parental permission at the appointment time. If we cannot contact the parent who has signed the form, we will not proceed with a tattoo.

All tattoo appointments for this age group must be booked in advance – no walk-ins.

We will not tattoo anyone who is or appears to be, under the influence of alcohol or drugs. No exceptions.

We reserve the right to refuse a tattoo to anyone who we feel is being abusive to our team or disrespectful of our art and services. Inappropriate behaviour towards any of our staff will not be tolerated.

At the start of your appointment, we will give an estimate of the final costs, which is not binding. Our tattoo artists may need to take extra time than originally planned depending on the nature of the design and any unexpected size, colour or artistic changes required. This particularly applies to tattoo coverups and re-inking of old designs.

We accept cash only.

All deposits for tattoo appointments are non-refundable. We are a busy shop, but we cannot always fill your appointment time at short notice.

If you cannot make your appointment, please call us to rearrange/reschedule for another time.

  • You can cancel your tattoo appointment up to 72 hours beforehand for anything taking 3 hours or under; anything taking longer than 3 hours requires a week’s notice.
  • You can reschedule your consultation appointment up to 24 hours in advance.

If you cancel without the correct amount before your appointment or do not show up to your appointment, you are responsible for 100% of the service/deposit cost.

You will be required to sign a disclaimer before we can do your tattoo. Please ask our team for more details.

You agree to inform us if:

  • You have a medical condition that might affect the healing of your tattoo.
  • You are pregnant or nursing.
  • You have any medical or skin conditions such as but not limited to acne, scarring (Keloid), eczema, psoriasis, freckles, moles or sunburn.
  • If you have any infection or rash anywhere on your body.

Allergies: Patch tests are recommended for all tattoos. By paying a deposit for a tattoo without a patch test, you agree that it isn’t possible for us to determine if you might have an allergic reaction to the pigments or processes used in your tattoo. By paying your deposit, you agree to accept the risk that such a reaction is possible.

Infection: By paying a deposit, you confirm that you understand that infection is always possible after having any tattoo. Your tattoo artists will provide detailed, personalized tattoo aftercare instructions. You agree to follow them while your tattoo is healing. Hanger 18 Tattoos do not take any responsibility for post-tattoo issues caused by your negligence in aftercare or any remedial work required as a result.
